To sum it all up, I swapped the motherboard and the power supply from Troy's unit into mine. The unit ended up being from a LCI model which was more appealing to me anyway. He had a wrecked module that could be used to rebuild my unit and he assured me it booted before he removed it from the car. I must have gotten lucky because I PMd him through this site and he gave me an even better/cheaper option. So the next cheapest option was to procure a used CCC from Troy Jeup. He was unable to reflow the solder on a BGA machine due to not being able to remove the fiber on the motherboards transceiver. I searched and searched to find a way to repair this on the cheap and even sent the unit to Scott Johnson ( BMW General Module 5 (GMV, ZKE V)) who repairs body modules. I have been listening to audio through my iPhone sitting on the dash ever since, not cool. Sometimes I could tap the side of the center dash and the system would reboot which led me to believe something was loose.

The next thing to happen was all audio, including gong chimes, stopped with the rebooting. Soon, this issue escalated into the entire unit rebooting while driving but otherwise worked normally. A simple button reset would usually bring the connection back. Problems began with the Bluetooth dropping or not connecting at all. I just rebuilt my non-LCI-CCC with a wrecked LCI-CCC from Troy Jeup (Thank you very much Troy!) and thought I would post a lot of pictures of the process.īack story: My CCC started giving me problems about 2 months after I purchased the car (FEB 2014).
